I’m Alaina, and I specialize in visual communication.
It all started when I was a teen in my high school yearbook class — learning the ins and outs of Adobe software, illustrating stories and bringing them to life.
Little did I know I was setting myself on a career path. Nearly a decade later, I have worked for a multitude of newspapers, magazines and businesses as a professional graphic designer, editor, and columnist.
I have been internationally honored with an Award of Excellence in 2015 with the Society for News Design in the category of Print & Digital news. I have also been recognized with multiple state-wide awards by the Tennessee Press Association, including first place in “2014 Make-Up and Appearance” and second place in “2014 Best Special Issue or Section,” “2014 Community Lifestyles” and “2014 Best Graphics and/or Illustrations.”
In 2016, I switched gears from the news industry and moved to South Mississippi, where I now work full-time as a graphic designer and prepress coordinator for a printing, sign and advertising company, Bourne Brothers printing.
I also freelance with the company Morgan Media, where my team of designers and I take on contract-based projects for companies of all shapes and sizes, from small locally-owned business to big government corporations. To learn more about that venture, click here.
